Building Connections and Inspiring the Next Generation
PCMS was proud to take part in Maritime Industry Day, an event that brought together industry leaders, innovators, educators, and future professionals for a day of learning and collaboration. Hosted on the waterfront, the event showcased the many career paths and technologies shaping the future of the maritime industry.
For PCMS, it was a valuable opportunity to connect with long-time partners, meet new faces, and engage with students and job seekers eager to build rewarding careers in the field. Events like this serve as a reminder that the strength of our industry depends on the continued sharing of knowledge, innovation, and mentorship between generations.
One of the highlights of the day came when Project Supervisor and Dive Master Craig Overlock demonstrated commercial diving equipment and shared firsthand insights into what it’s like to work underwater. Students gathered around as Craig explained how commercial divers play a critical role in underwater construction, inspections, and repairs. His enthusiasm for the work—and the stories he shared from years of hands-on experience—sparked curiosity and excitement among the next generation of maritime professionals.
At PCMS, we take pride not only in the work we do but also in contributing to the growth and sustainability of the maritime workforce. Participating in events like Maritime Industry Day reinforces our commitment to developing talent, advancing innovation, and supporting a thriving industry that continues to shape our region’s economy and communities.
We’re grateful to everyone who helped make the event a success—and we look forward to continuing to connect, collaborate, and inspire at future industry gatherings.
